Presentations, web pages, animations, graphics, course photos and trial versions of all software taught are burnt to CDROM to take home! Children are "buddied up" alongside another of similar age and experience. Sessions are 50-55 minutes long with breaks for drinks and games. On Wednesday we take a longer lunch break and go out for lunch and a movie. All courses are a fun holiday experience as well as sound computer education, many children return again and again. Course fees may be claimable as child care for taxation purposes.

Web Design, Animations & Graphics Beginners, intermediate and advanced sessions. Flash is a premium graphics and animation application yet it's fun, enjoyable and a powerful learning experience for children. Microsoft GIF Animator and GIMP are also taught and these programs are used to make animations. GIMP is similar to Photoshop, makes animations and is a free program. Instruction is also available in a range of graphics programs like Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop and Illustrator. Create a web site using FrontPage or Dreamweaver with pages for animations, photos, jokes, About You and links to favourite sites. Also taught are rollover buttons, hyperlinks, dynamic HTML effects, page transitions and sound.		Programming Level 1 Understand the principles and terminology behind programming languages. Program in easy to learn QBasic. Learn print and input statements, string and non-string variables, calculations, presenting results and then program a calculator. Understand how to store and compare variables, make random numbers, integers, loops, counters, decisions, jumps, subroutines, concatenation, left, right and mid string functions, screen positioning, displaying results, formatting input and make a dice throwing game. Write and retrieve files to disk. See next for level 2 and 3.
Microsoft Office 2010/2007 A 3 day course suitable for 14 - 19 year olds. Discover new ways of working faster, and better. Learn how to produce more professional looking results for school projects or university assignments. The use of a design layout grid is central to good design this class shows how to design and publish with Word. Create professional looking cover pages, brochures, flyers, school projects and university thesis using styles, automatic tables of contents and custom headers and footers. Call for details 499 2211		Intermediate & Advanced Workshops Excellent for those who have been before or know a lot. Small groups of 2-4. Great preparation for school, college or university. Sessions are run on areas of interest taken from all the classes as well as music, graphics and sound. Advance your 3D game creation to the next level. Create sighting scopes, sprites, and menus. Advanced game scripting. Graphics, animation and web programs like, Flash, Gimp, Photoshop, Illustrator, FrontPage, Dreamweaver. Learn programming levels 2 or 3 and game programming with Lua or other languages like; Java, Visual Basic, C++, PHP and SQL. Build, update and network computers using Windows or Linux. Set up your own web site and web server. Understand databases and Microsoft Access; design tables, define fields, create queries, display results and print reports. Make a relational database.
Film Making and Video Editing Not just for the budding Campion or Jackson. Creative video production tools, like the ones we use on our course, have become widely accessible. Children learn in a fun inventive way to make their own film, edit it on a computer and publish to YouTube as a finished movie. Children generate Ideas, develop a story, break it into scenes and shots and plan a shoot. Then use computer video editing to add sound, transitions, titles and credits and publish to YouTube as a finished movie.		Essential Computer Skills An opportunity to learn essential computer skills and discover what is available in the field of computing. This course is enjoyable, fun, and an empowering learning experience. In small groups and short 55min session a lot is covered. Computer games are played during the breaks, Sessions cater for all levels of experience, Sessions are run on animations, programming, Excel and Word. A lesson shows how to use PowerPoint as an artist's tool. Photos are also taken to make ID cards and PowerPoint photo presentations. A computer is pulled apart to see how the hardware is assembled.
Create 3D Games & Introduction to Game Scripting Create a labyrinth of rooms with water or lava below and sky above with doors, elevators, and teleporters. Add entities and create your own 3D models. Also includes an introduction to script programming all done in a fun and enjoyable way.		Build Your Own Computer Learn the parts, terminology and principles involved to build or upgrade a computer.
